About Linda Gupton
Linda Gupton lives in Lewisburg, TN and attended Middle Tennessee State University receiving a 1966 BS degree in business and a 1979 MBE. She worked for Heil-Quaker Corporation in Lewisburg before obtaining a business teaching position in Culleoka School of the Maury County School System. In 1991 she expanded her interest in the Athenaeum (Ath´ -ne´ əm) by teaching art in the girls school summer session. Retiring after 32 years of teaching, she extended her interests in various painting mediums including China painting, researching, and reenactments.
A member of United Daughters of the Confederacy, she received recognition for a watercolor depicting the 50th anniversary of the UDC Memorial Building, Winnie Davis Medal for contributing duties excluding the realm of history, and Jefferson Davis Historical Gold Medal for excellence in essay writing, declamation and other points of special attainment in keeping with the historical aims and purposes of the Organization.
